February Fixes and Successes
We had a wonderful repair café session on Saturday 1st February. From electrical repairs to furniture restoration, our volunteers tackled a diverse range of items. We’re particularly proud of our successful furniture repairs and electrical fixes this month. Join us for our next session on March 22nd, 1-3pm!
We look at many more items than are shown below. For some reason, we have more photos of things we couldn’t repair than usual; but the overall repair rate remains about 80%.
A successful repair where we found and soldered a broken circuit connection. Now the Swans are easier to find!
This beautiful, portable writing desk was brought in a few months ago.
The owner picked it up with new hinges and leather topper.
This rocking chair needed careful gluing and clamping to restore it to working order. Rock on!
A tricky but successful repair of this heater.
These lights are now ready for UK use after removing the French plug.
From worn to wonderful - this rucksack is ready for new adventures.
Toast is back on the menu!
Our popular toy swap table - giving pre-loved toys new homes!
This lighthouse ornament proved too challenging to fix. Like many items, it’s just not designed to be repaired.
This clock required more specialist help than we could give it.
When repair isn’t possible, we help ensure proper recycling.
We also made a successful repair of a doll’s head using a wood-to-wood dowel connection, but couldn’t repair a heated greenhouse propagator that proved impossible to open due to its glued construction.
See you next time, March 22nd, 1-3pm at the Tregony Village Hall!
